Description - Slice&Dice

Slice&Dice is a puzzle game, but it is set in a VR world where this universe’s laws of physics apply for the most part, and where gravity is also in effect. The puzzles involve large blocks and cuboids that you have to destroy or cut up in order to solve the puzzles. Cut sections of cuboids to complete puzzles Slice&Dice presents you with different puzzles in VR. Sometimes you have to get the ball down the hole, and other times you have to find a way of dumping slices of boxes down a hole. You use your virtual controller and the laser it produces to cut the cuboids. Sometimes you have to use the laser to shoot and remove pieces of certain objects, and they interact with other objects in order to complete the puzzle. The graphics are pretty bad because they are very plain, flat and bland. There are even occasions where large expanses of colour are rather off-putting. Like a mobile game in VR Slice&Dice is very similar to the app Cut The Rope in how there are certain sections that you cut and this results in solving the puzzle. The problem is that if you were to turn it into a mobile game, then the user experience wouldn’t be dramatically different other than the fact it wasn`t in VR. The fact that the game doesn`t rely on it being in virtual reality is a nice selling point, but it may not play so well for people who are looking for a brand-new experience. Overall, it is a nice game idea that is suitable for those who like post 2010 mobile app games.

Pros:
"A reasonably entertaining puzzle game"
"Other people can watch you play"

Cons:
"The graphics are rather ugly and uninspired"
"They should have created a nicer VR environment"
