Neon Chrome is a fast-paced top-down twin-stick shooter with an 80s-influenced cyberpunk look and feel. In the game, you and up to three friends take on wave after wave of enemies in a series of levels, blasting your way through fully-destructible scenery to make it to the end and thwart the plans of the evil Overseer. Along the way, you`ll upgrade not only weapons but also your own body, adding cybernetic replacements to boost your stats.Take to the retro-future streetsIf you like twin-stick shooters, you`ll find most of Neon Chrome pretty familiar in terms of its gameplay. Like all new entries in an established genre, this indie effort succeeds based on its innovation. The cyber-chambers that allow you to upgrade yourself put a fun twist on character advancement mechanics, while the pumping electronic soundtrack and retro-futuristic neon and shadows evoke the cyberpunk aesthetic of the 1980s and 1990s. Many of the game`s features move it in a roguelike direction, although it`s not a roguelike as such.
